LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs

of mental health and substance use challenges among adolescents ages 12-18. You’ll build

skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to young people who

are struggling. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.

No, the class is free of charge to the public because community entities contribute with the cost of it. If you cannot attend, please notify in advance so those on a waiting list can attend.

The class is designed for people over 18 years of age.

The class lasts 8 hours and is theoretical-practical, and part of it is completed virtually. Once you sign up, we send you an email from the National Council of Mental Wellness Portal. The steps to follow are very easy. First you choose your personal password and then you answer a simple questionnaire that will not have a score (if you do not complete it before the class, we can help you do it in the class itself, do not worry. Then we have the class and at the end we return to your file on your phone and finish completing the questions (or you can do it later from a computer. We also have computers with free internet at the American Fork Library).

Yes, you will finish your certification in the Portal of the National Council of Mental Wellbeing and pass the exam, you will receive your Official Certificate valid for 3 years.
